Air Jordan 4 Fire Red SNKRS From Nike Makes Its Return Today
One of three OG, and hence coveted, Air Jordan 4 colorways, the “Fire Red” gets a long-awaited, and only third, retro in history this week.
The Nike Air Jordan 4 “Fire Red” makes its return today, and you can still secure a pair by scrolling down on SNKRS App.
Re-issued in 2006 and 2012, the Air Jordan 4 “Fire Red” first dropped in 1989, designed by Tinker Hatfield. It happens to be one of the few Jordan releases that have kept coveted status despite only being retroed a small number of times.
It’s not just the “Fire Red” colorway that’s iconic here, though. The Air Jordan 4 silhouette has held legendary status pretty much ever since Michael Jordan wore the sneaker when making “The Shot” against the Cleveland Cavaliers during the 1989 playoffs, securing a place in the NBA semi-finals for the Chicago Bulls.

Staying mostly true to the original release, a white leather upper is contrasted with black and “Fire Red” detailing, keeping the rubber netted underlays and red midsole in place. This time around, though, the “Nike Air” branding returns to the heel in place of the Jumpman logo for the first time since on the OG “Fire Red” AJ4 in 1989.
StockX market data on the new “Fire Red” Jordan 4 shows that it’s currently selling for an average of $194 on the site, which is under its retail price. Its 52-week high reached $375, meaning that it’s a smart time to cop a classic.
Air Jordan 4 Fire Red SNKRS From Nike Makes Its Return Today
Since its February 1989 debut, the Air Jordan 4 “Fire Red” has re-released in 2006 and 2012, but its 2020 retro is the most true-to-original yet. Featuring some key detailing including Nike Air hits, bigger than life tongue tags and a whole lotta red shade, it’s a thoughtful and fan fulfilling moment that will delight die-hard Jordan purists and new Jumpman ‘heads alike. The build is recreated faithfully, highlighted by a white leather upper with Fire Red detailing on the molded eyelets and outsole. The shoe rounds out with a visible Air sole unit, tongue patch with a Jumpman logo and Flight script graphic. With all that being said, GOAT is carrying this latest release while also taking a look at the legacy of Air Jordans that MJ wore during these career-defining moments, available now on their site.
