Autumn hiking in good weather at Tegernsee

The golden autumn invites you to go hiking. Because of the moderate temperatures, the best time to climb the mountains is between September and the beginning of November. Whether crossing the Alps, family-friendly circular hiking trails or alpine mountain tours for amateur athletes: At Tegernsee there is the right hiking route for every fitness level. It is not for nothing that the Tegernsee region is one of the most popular hiking destinations: a breathtaking view of the Alps and lakes is rewarding for many a sweaty ascent and the very good signposting of the paths prevents hikers from taking the wrong turn.

In winter, go on one of the longest natural toboggan runs in Germany

Sledging, also known as tobogganing, is not only popular with children: adults can also enjoy themselves on the many toboggan runs on Lake Tegernsee – even those without children. And for good reason: the 6.5-kilometer natural toboggan run on Wallberg near Rottach-Egern takes you back to childhood and brings back fond memories from the old days. The descent on the toboggan run takes half an hour; if you don’t have your own sledge, you can easily borrow one at the Wallbergbahn valley station. But be careful: The cable car on Wallberg is also very demanding: physical fitness, the right equipment and caution are required at all times.
