The divorce proceedings of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver have been pending in the courts for 10 years.
The divorce proceedings of the actor and former California governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and his wife, American journalist Maria Shriver, remained pending in the courts for 10 years before the Los Angeles Supreme Court on Tuesday formally ended their divorce.
According to “Fox News“, in 2011, Maria Shriver filed for divorce from Arnold Schwarzenegger due to “irreconcilable differences”, but the property settlement of the two parties prevented her from achieving her goal all these years.
The newspaper “Daily Mail” that the property settlement agreement between the former spouses was very complicated, as their net worth is more than 400 million dollars, and they had to split the amount in half because they did not sign a prenuptial agreement.
Finally, the divorce of the famous couple was terminated after the hearing judge signed the divorce document on Tuesday morning, and the Los Angeles Superior Court finalized the divorce settlement earlier this month, pending the judge’s signature to complete the transactions.
It is reported that the reason for the divorce of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver is due to the latter’s discovery that her husband, the domestic worker, Mildred, had a child that he had hidden from her for 15 years.
