Azalea Banks Cooks A Dead Cat And Causes Widespread Controversy
Azealia Banks sparked controversy among fans after searching for and cooking her dead cat, and documenting the operation on her Instagram page.
The rapper Azealia, 29, posted a series of photos and videos as she appeared to dig up pet puss Lucifer and cooked it in a pan. The video has since been removed for violating Instagram‘s terms.
“Lucifer 2009-2020. My Dear kitty,” Azealia wrote. “Thank you for everything. A legend. An icon. Forever a serval serve.”

The rapper posted — and deleted — a gruesome set of videos in which she and another unseen person seemed to exhume the remains of her pet Lucifer, who died last year.
In one of the clips, which are absolutely too grim to post here, she is on her hands and knees, clawing at the earth with her bare hands, while humming a tune, before pulling up a sack ostensibly containing the cat’s remains.
In December of 2016, she posted another series of videos on Instagram as she cleaned her closet of what she claimed was dried blood and feathers from sacrificed chickens, where she had practiced “three years worth of brujeria”.
Fans were left horrified and concerned for the 212 singer, with many left wondering whether this was an elaborate prank.
“Are you cooking the cat?” one fan asked.
