Beyonce Is The First Black Woman To Wear Tiffany Diamonds
The US singer Beyonce Knowles is the first black woman in fashion history to wear the Tiffany diamond.
The occasion was the new “About Love” campaign by the luxury jeweler, which starts in September with Beyonce’s husband Jay-Z. At the same time, it is the first time that the piece of jewelry has been shown as part of an advertising campaign.
“Love is the diamond that adorns jewelry and art,” said the power couple. Beyonce shared some pictures on her Instagram page. “Beyonce and Jay-Z are the epitome of the modern love story. As a brand that has always stood for love, strength and self-expression, we couldn’t imagine a more iconic couple who better represent Tiffany’s values, ”said Tiffany in a press release.
In addition, a film accompanying the campaign was shot with a musical performance by Bey-once of the classic “Moon River”, made famous by the 1961 film “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”. Jay-Z also plays a role in it.
The Tiffany diamond weighs 128.54 carats, making it one of the largest in the world. It has an unprecedented number of 82 facets. The gem was originally excavated in South Africa in 1877. So far it has been worn by the politician wife Mary Whitehouse, the Hollywood icon Audrey Hepburn and the singer Lady Gaga.
