Chicken Nuggets Addiction
British girl Jessica Thompson spent 11 years of her life eating only chicken nuggets, but she finally managed to overcome her chicken nuggets addiction and food phobia, after doctors treated her with hypnosis.
The British newspaper “Daily Mail” reported that Thompson had only eaten chicken nuggets since she was 18 months old, when she began refusing to taste new types of food. And her mother, Julia Cain, had no idea why the food was so frightening for her daughter.
But after consulting professionals, Jessica was diagnosed with Avoidant/Restrictive Eating Disorder.
People with this disorder suffer from a phobia of the feel, smell, or shape of certain foods in general, and refuse to eat them.
Being monitored by a hypnotherapist, Jessica can now enjoy a full dinner of grilled foods at her home, as well as a wide variety of fruits and vegetables.

The therapist said: “When Jessica came to my clinic, she looked very bad, and was suffering from lethargy and anxiety,” noting that “trying to get people with this disorder to eat is like trying to get someone with arachnophobia to hold a spider in his hand.” They panicked at the thought of a new or unsafe food.”
