A red panda turbid in the Duisburg Zoo has been found after one and a semi-day search.
Germany– The animal named Jang was discovered at noon in a treetop on the zoo grounds, close to the panda system and could be saved with the help of a droop ladder of the fire brigade, as the zoo announced. The animal is good.
Already since yesterday morning the zoo had sought the animal with all the forces available. Binoculars and thermal imaging cameras were used, because it was assumed that Jang was in one of the numerous treetops on the zoo grounds. Friday morning a thermal image drone was also used to support the search in the leafy trees from the air.
The zoo assumed that at one point of panda, the opportunity gave himself to overcome the demarcation with a herbal climbing aid. The plants have already been cut back accordingly today.
Red Pandas, also called small pandas, are among the vulnerable species. The stocks in their original habitat, the Himalayan Mountains from Nepal to Myanmar, are declining. This is due to this, among other things, the degradation of wood, the spread of agriculture and the hunt.
