British pop star Elton John has unveiled his new song, which also features US pop singer Britney Spears, in a surprise performance today at the Cote d’Azur in Cannes.
As the newspaper “Nice-Matin” reported, the superstar appeared in the trendy restaurant La Guerite on the island of Sainte Marguerite in front of the Croisette in Cannes.
The British superstar grabbed the mic at the celebrity-popular restaurant and sang his new song “Hold Me Closer,” a remake of his 1971 song “Tiny Dancer,” a video posted by the newspaper showed.
“Britney Spears, Elton John, let’s go,” called the singer at the start of his unannounced short concert and performed the new title in front of an enthusiastic crowd. “Thank you, that’s coming out Friday,” Elton John said at the end.
The cooperation with the British superstar would be a musical comeback for Britney Spears, it had already been said in media reports. The singer has been under guardianship since 2008 after she had a mental breakdown due to personal and professional problems.
In September last year, a judge finally relieved the father of his guardianship. In November, the singer regained full control of her life.
