Hurricane India threatens to return again next week, India is still trying to recover from Typhoon Tauktae.
After the cyclone “Tauktae” with at least 110 deaths, another tropical cyclone is brewing off the east coast of India.
The storm is expected to hit the states of West Bengal and Odisha in the middle of next week, the Indian weather service warned today.
The cyclone “Tauktae” had passed over India from the west with wind speeds of up to 185 kilometers per hour on Monday evening. It caused waves three meters high on the west coast and knocked down trees and power lines.
From a scientific point of view, the number and intensity of cyclones in the region is increasing as a result of climate change and the associated higher water temperatures in the sea. “Tauktae” was the largest cyclone in the region for decades.
