Johnson And Johnson Announces Change Of Boss
The US pharmaceutical company Johnson And Johnson is preparing a change at the top of its board.
Long-time chairman Alex Gorsky will vacate the post on January 3, 2022 and become the company’s managing director, Johnson & Johnson announced yesterday after the US stock market closed.
His successor was Joaquin Duato, who like Gorsky has been working for the group for over three decades and has long been a top manager. Duato is currently the Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of Johnson & Johnson. He should also move into the administrative board, which is superordinate to the executive board.
Gorsky, who has been at the helm since 2012, stated in the announcement that he wanted to relinquish the chairmanship of the board for “family health reasons”. In addition, it is the right time for a change because of the company’s good shape. Investors reacted calmly, the share hardly moved after hours.
