Malta : Admission Of Guilt In The Murder Of Daphne Caruana Galizia

A surprising turnaround in the murder of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia, who was murdered in Malta : one of three men on trial for the murder of blogger Daphne Caruana Galizia pleaded guilty today.

So far, all three had denied the act. The woman was killed on October 16, 2017 with an explosive device housed in her car. She had researched corruption in politics and business in her country. The defendant and his attorney have now informed the Valletta court that they admit allegations of involvement in the attack. Shortly afterwards, the defendant was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
There are several ongoing proceedings in Malta because of the attack on Caruana Galizia. In addition to the trial of the three murder suspects, entrepreneur Yorgen Fenech was arrested in November 2019 as an alleged mastermind. So far, everyone has denied the allegations.
