Martin Duffy stepped in to save the Charlatans when we lost Rob – he (…) was a real friend. He also toured with me in my solo band – it was a pleasure to spend time with him. Bon voyage Duffy.” The cause of death is not known at this time.

Beginnings with indie band Felt

Duffy was also a member of the Birmingham indie band Felt, which he joined in 1985 at the age of 16. He then joined Primal Scream and played keyboards on the band’s first two albums, 1987’s Sonic Flower Groove and 1989’s self-titled album, before becoming a permanent member.
