Regina King And Idris Elba Star In The Harder They Fall
Jonathan Majors, Regina King and Idris Elba Face Off in Gunslinging First Trailer for The Harder They Fall.
On Thursday, Netflix released the first full look at the highly-anticipated western starring Majors, Elba, King, Zazie Beetz and LaKeith Stanfield.
The movie also marks a reunion between Majors and Delroy Lindo, who played father and son in last year’s Spike Lee joint “Da 5 Bloods.” Rounding out the film’s all-star ensemble are Danielle Deadwyler, Edi Gathegi, R.J. Cyler, Damon Wayans Jr. and Deon Cole.
The clip opens with King’s “Treacherous” Trudy Smith on horseback, as the Oscar-winner and her gang of outlaws ride towards a moving train, stopping on the track. Then, King makes quick work of the conductor, shooting him down after he attempts to call her something that begins with an “N.”
The upcoming Netflix original film is directed by Jeymes Samuel, who made his directorial debut in 2013 with They Die By Dawn, another Western film starring Rosario Dawson and Giancarlo Esposito. Samuel is mainly known for his work as as a musician and producer, serving as the executive music consultant for The Great Gatsby (2013), so we know the soundtrack is going to ooze perfection. Boaz Yakin (Remember The Titans, Fresh) wrote The Harder They Fall with Samuel, with Shawn Carter, James Lassiter, and Lawrence Bender on as producers. With an absolutely stacked cast–boy howdy this film looks like a riotous delight.
