The Tigray War is an ongoing armed conflict that began around midnight of 3–4 November 2020 in the Tigray Region of Ethiopia. It is being fought between the Special Forces of the Tigray Regional government, and the Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF) aided by the Ethiopian Federal Police, regional police and gendarmerie forces of the neighboring Amhara and Afar Regions with the involvement of the Eritrean Defence Forces (EDF).
The Tigrayan Special Forces received reinforcements from defecting ENDF soldiers and civilian volunteers; they were integrated into the Tigray Defense Forces.
The ENDF and EDF have committed war crimes during the conflict.
The conflict erupted in the Ethiopian Tigray region in February, after the regional government rejected Abiy Ahmed’s decision to postpone democratic elections for the second time in a row, so that the response came quickly from the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, who won the Nobel Prize, by sending heavily-armed forces, backed by militias and foreign mercenaries, to discipline the region at the limit. His claim, this person never thought about negotiation or dialogue, did not think about millions of civilians and innocent people, only thought of the seat of power and authority.
A war in which about 150,000 civilians were killed, and tens of thousands of rape cases. It did not depend on this, but also the use of internationally-banned chemical weapons, according to a report by the Telegraph, and according to eyewitnesses in the hell-like and hard-to-reach area, the soldiers of Abu Ahmed committed Horrors that humankind has not witnessed since the medieval wars, killing fetuses in mothers’ stomachs, rape and torture, female genital mutilation, liquidating old men and women in cold blood. On the borders of the State of Sudan, to turn them into refugees with no future.
