The Bachelorette Tayshia Choose , Live Updates

Hometowns are coming up onThe Bachelorette — so it’s time for Tayshia Adams to make some tough decisions.

ET – This week’s episode of the ABC dating show will pick up where we left off, with Noah and Bennett’s surprise two-on-one before the cocktail party. Our Bachelorette knows this show’s not big enough for the two of them, so one of them has to go.
Then, with the drama put to bed, Tayshia can focus on diving deeper with the remaining suitors. She’ll get to know them better through a lie detector test, where Zac seemingly admits to cheating. And after last week’s emotional reveals, another man will open up to Tayshia about a secret he’s never told anyone else — but it could lead to a big breakthrough.

Beginning of the End

5:00 PM:
Welcome one, welcome all! It’s the beginning of the end and we’re ready it.
Hometowns are coming right up, so it’s time to get serious.

Very, Very Sorry

5:10 PM:
We’re back with the impromptu two-on-one, and Tayshia is not having it.
She confronts Bennett for “questioning” her integrity — even though he doesn’t feel that way.
“For that, I’m very, very sorry,” he says, before shifting the conversation to Noah.

EQ or IQ or DQ

5:15 PM:
We’re back from commercial and Noah and Bennett are still fighting about EQ and IQ, and we can’t tell if we’re over this because our IQ is too high or our EQ is too low.
Bennett says he knows he’s “different” and he owns it. “Let the best man win,” he quips.
“He’s acted like a young child through this process,” Bennett tells the camera of Noah.
Noah feels confident. “I think Bennett’s going home,” he shares.

Not Bennett

5:17 PM:
Tayshia is back from her thoughtful walk outside, and she’s ready to hand out her rose.
She praises Bennett for how she makes her feel, but then says she’s worried about how condescending he is to other people, and how he questioned her intentions.
Then she addresses Noah, sharing how excited she is to get to know him. “I’m also worried you’re not ready for marriage at the end of this,” she says.
So, who gets the rose? Not Bennett.
“Bennett, unfortunately I can’t give you this rose,” Tayshia says, and Bennett looks SHOOK.

Deja Vu

5:19 PM:
Young Noah is smiling from ear to ear as Bennett asks Tayshia if this is really goodbye? Remember when Eazy said that last week? Deja vu, people!
“I’m shocked,” Bennett admits. “Never for one second was I questioning your ability to make a decision… I’m so sorry.”
“I’m sorry, Bennett,” Tayshia replies, walking him to his car.
Bennett looks SO SAD. Like, sadder than Ben usually looks. Then he gets in his car and tells Tayshia he hopes she finds what she’s looking for.
Remember when we loved Bennett and now we’re not that upset to see him go? What a difference a week makes.

Tic Tacs

5:22 PM:
Tayshia admits it “didn’t feel right” sending Bennett home, and then we get a shot of Noah inhaling Tic Tacs.
“No, don’t be smiling,” Tayshia scolds him. “That wasn’t a victory for you, by any means…. that was hard.”
Tayshia is SO GOOD at being serious, and tells Noah she’s not going to give him this rose either. But, she’ll keep him around for the rose ceremony and make her mind up later.
Noah is pissed. “Honestly, I’m not sure what she’s thinking,” he tells the camera.

Sulking

5:32 PM:
Tayshia connects with the other men at the cocktail party, while Noah sits and sulks. GOOD.
“Once I started diving into talking to the guys, my night was turned around,” Tayshia gushes. “This is such a good group of guys. I’m really excited about the direction we’re going.”

It’s OVER

5:33 PM:
Tayshia and Brendan sit down to talk, and we are reminded of how much we miss him.
“I feel like me and Tayshia have a real connection,” he says. “I’m going into tonight’s rose ceremony feeling really, really good.”
More Brendan please!! But it’ll have to wait because now the cocktail party is OVER. Our lovely guest host JoJo calls Tayshia for the rose ceremony. Guess Chris Harrison is still dropping his kid off at college?

Thank You Noah for Being a Nurse

5:38 PM:
Time for the rose ceremony!
Ivan is having trouble with his eyesight and can’t tell how many roses are left. It is 5! Let’s get some carrots worked into his diet.
Noah is not that confident, and we’re not going to lie, we wouldn’t mind seeing him go home. However, we will say that as a nurse, Noah has been doing a lot to help us throughout coronavirus, so we are happy with him in that regard. Happy with Noah in the real world, not so happy with Noah in the Bachelorette bubble.
Tayshia gives the men a heartfelt “thank you” before picking up her first rose.

Still In

5:45 PM:
Tayshia makes her picks… and it DOESN’T include her first impression rose winner, Spencer. He’s out!
(And Young Noah is still in…)

Check In With Yo’self

5:51 PM:
We’re down to just seven guys, and while the guys can’t believe it, we can. We are one week away from hometowns, people!!
JoJo walks in the next morning, and Chris Harrison is still out. “I can’t tell you guys enough how important meeting the family is,” JoJo tells the guys, instructing them to “check in with your feelings.”

Zac Is Crying

5:52 PM:
Ben gets the first one-on-one this week… but Zac is crying?
He says his family is “everything.” “My mom and my dad are my heroes, so that makes it really real,” he cries in front of the guys. “
He is MEGA emotional about Tayshia possibly meeting his parents. “Knowing how happy I’ve been the last couple of weeks with Tayshia…” he tells the camera, before choking up. “It’s a lot to take in.”
She drops off the date card and bounces.

Scooters

5:54 PM:
We have to leave Zac behind for a min, because it’s time for Tayshia’s date with Ben.
Producers have run out of activities at the resort, so Tayshia and Ben will be riding scooters.
Ben says he’s “incredibly grateful” to be riding scooters. We’re kidding, he’s talking about getting a one-on-one. “I’m excited to keep the momentum going,” he tells the camera. We think THAT is about the scooters.

Ben Is Not Shy

5:55 PM:
All of the sudden Ben is taking off his pants (he keeps his undies on) to get into a fountain. Tayshia is happy, but we are having flashbacks to last week’s episode, when he stripped it all off.
This man is not shy, is he?

Burden…

5:56 PM:
Ben puts his pants back on as they wrap up the day part of the date, and he and Tayshia talk about how their relationship has progressed.
“You have to just… let it out,” she tells Ben, encouraging him to open up.
“It’s me trying to be perfect,” Ben says. “Maybe part of me doesn’t want to share things because I don’t want to burden you. But I trust you.”
Ben is gearing up for a big reveal. “I want to know more,” Tayshia tells the camera. “With Ben at this moment, I don’t know if I can give him a rose, because I’ve yet to see who he really is.”
Onto the night part of the date!

The REAL Ben

6:01 PM:
Tayshia and Ben sit down for a romantic dinner date. “I’d love to meet Ben’s family and see what makes him tick and where his roots are,” she tells the camera, but notes she has concerns about him not opening up to her.
He tells Tayshia he can’t believe this is real life, and it’s the kind of nice thing Tayshia was scared of hearing. She wants to know the REAL him.
“I feel like you’re almost too perfect. You say the right thing… I feel like you want to display this perfect image of yourself,” she tells Ben. “I know you’re holding back… I feel like there’s hurt there.”

Being Perfect

6:03 PM:
“I was raised in a house where being perfect was expected, or being a certain way was expected. You have to look the part, you have to do all the things a certain way. I had everything I needed, materially, but I think often I was left wanting emotionally,” Ben tells Tayshia, as she encouraged him to let his walls down.
Ben continues, revealing that he left home when he was 18 and joined the Army. “I’ve just been conditioned to be this person that even when I’m feeling vulnerable, I default to what’s comfortable. It’s easier for me to do this than to say the wrong thing or be overtly vulnerable or share a thing that’s really uncomfortable for me,” he explains.
Tayshia asks Ben if he’s close with his family, to which he brings up his sister, who previously helped him with his 15-year battle with an eating disorder. “She’s the best person I know, and she’s saved my life in more ways than one,” Ben says.
“How did she help you?” Tayshia asks.

Ben’s Big Reveal

6:04 PM:
Ben makes a big, emotional reveal: he attempted suicide twice in the past.
“2018 was a rough year for me. I left a career that I thought I was going to be in forever. The Army didn’t end up working out for me, for a number of reasons, but I ended up breaking my back pretty bad, and I’m 26 years old, and I can barely walk up the steps, and I was living in a city that was too expensive for me, and I was completely lost,” Ben shares. “My life was very dark, and I didn’t know how to say that I needed things. I don’t know if you can relate with that, or how that can be. The only person I confided in was my sister, and I’m trying to give you the whole picture.”
After taking a contemplative pause, Ben commits to going “deep.”
“I had two failed suicide attempts in 2018 and 2019,” he says. “I don’t mean to, like, throw that on you. It’s a weird thing to do here. My sister, she doesn’t know, and I guess she’ll know now.”
“But I didn’t want to be here anymore, and for the same reason that I don’t like to share, it’s because I didn’t want to burden anybody with my problems,” Ben continues. “And I thought that the easiest way was to just not be around. Luckily, it didn’t work. And the only thing that got me through that was her, and she has no idea. She saved my life, and so I owe her everything.”

A Rose for Ben

6:06 PM:
Ben says he didn’t want to worry his sister, and that he never found the right time to tell her about how much she helped him.
“Through being very intentional and aggressive with my therapy, the person that you see before you today, isn’t that person,” he tells Tayshia. “It’s insane that I just told you that, because I don’t tell you that I was very scared about sharing all of those things, and I’m OK.”
“You’re OK,” Tayshia assures him. “And I’m still right here. I see you and I hear you, and that’s all I’ve been wanting. I’ve been wanting you to open up to me… you’re an amazing person.”
“I don’t want to cry, but thank you,” Ben replies. “It literally means the world to me.”
Tayshia then offers Ben the rose — she’ll be meeting his family. “I’m so incredibly happy that you’re here. I’m so happy you were able to take the steps so we’re able to progress our relationship,” she says.

TAYSHIA LOVES BEN

6:08 PM:
Ben and Tayshia end the night with a private concert.
“Today’s date has just been perfect, and now we have this stunning private concert,” Tayshia tells the camera. “The way Ben made me feel tonight is the way I want to feel with my future husband… I truly love Ben.”
