Amazon founder Jeff Bezos invited Tom Hanks to travel with him into space. That’s what the Hollywood star said on “Jimmy Kimmel”.
As a guest of Jimmy Kimmel, Tom Hanks revealed that Jeff Bezos would have liked to have him by his side when the multi-billionaire traveled into space in mid-July 2021. The catch of the generous offer: “He wanted me to pay for it myself,” says Tom Hanks.
“It would have cost $ 28 million or something to get the hang of it. I’m good in business, Jimmy, I’m good in business. But I’m not paying 28 million bucks,” joked the movie star. Especially not for a space adventure that is “an approximately twelve-minute flight”.
Instead of Tom Hanks, Jeff Bezos flew into space on July 20 of this year with his brother Mark, US pilot Wally Funk and 18-year-old Oliver Daemen. His father had bought the seat in the space capsule – apparently after Tom’s cancellation – at an auction.
