Chrissy Teigen said goodbye to the social network, writing that her time spent on the site “no longer serves me as positively as it serves me negatively, and I think that’s the right time to call something.”
Teigen began the missive by thanking her fans and praising what they had “created” on the website.
“Hey. For over 10 years, you guys have been my world,” she wrote.
“I honestly owe so much to this world we have created here. I truly consider so many of you my actual friends. But it’s time for me to say goodbye.”
The Cravings creator introduced on March 24 that she would not use the social media platform, stating in a single last thread on Twitter that the “fear of pissing people off” has remodeled her into “a different human than I started out here as.”
In a March 25 Instagram put up, she additional detailed the selection she made to assist her psychological well being, emphasizing that whereas the “bullying” she’s obtained on the platform hurts, it is not the explanation she’s not collaborating within the Twittersphere. She wrote, “The platform no longer serves me as positively as it does negatively, so with that I bid you adieu. But I want to say that this is absolutely NOT twitter’s fault – I believe they do all they can to combat relentless bullying, any honestly, it’s not the bullying!! You guys have no idea how much they’ve reached out and worked with my team and me personally. It’s not the platform. It’s not the ‘bullying.’”
As the thread continued, Teigen said she was “deeply bruised” from her time online and hadn’t learned how to “block out the negativity.”
“My desire to be liked and fear of pissing people off has made me somebody you didn’t sign up for, and a different human than I started out here as!,” the wife of John Legend continued.
